Best Everton Moments of 2012... (Part 2)

Today we continue our posts of the best Everton moments of 2012.

Tony Hibbo's Testimonial

We start today's best Everton moments with a night around 18,000 Evertonians will never forget. It was a warm August 9th night when the Blues took on Greek side AEK Athens in a testimonial for scouser and long life Evertonian Tony Hibbert. While Steven Naismith was stealing the show with a hat trick, the tension could be felt every time Hibbo touched the ball. But, the special moment arrived in the 53rd minute with a free kick in front of the Street End. Tony blasted the ball as hard as he could and found the bottom corner with a class shot. Goodison erupted! And as promised, we rioted! Relive that moment here;

FA Cup Semi Final (First Half) v Liverpool

I know it didn't end well, but we had to include this purely for the first half. After the incredible performance against Sunderland in the Quarter Final, all eyes were on the Merseyside Derby at Wembley. I only plan on talking about the first half as we all know what happened in the second. Everton dominating. 25000 Blues creating an incredible atmosphere. And in the 24th minute, Jelavic with a classy finish resulted in absolute mayhem from the Blue end of Wembley. That first half and the half time break will live long in my memory. It's a pity we couldn't hang on.

Part 3 to follow....

Best Everton Moments Of 2012... (Part 1)

With the year coming to an end, we thought we'd gather the best Everton moments of 2012. We've had some ups and downs over the past year but there are some moments that will last in the memory. We asked our followers on Twitter and our visitors on Facebook to send in theirs and we compiled the best. Here's Part 1;

Manchester United 4-4 Everton

This game was brought up a lot by Blues when we asked for your best moments of the year. What a game it was! 1-0 up. 3-1 down. 4-2 down. And at full time, 4-4. Marouane Fellaini had one of his best performances of his career. Jelavic continued his impressive goal scoring form. And that goal by Steven Pienaar which lost the league for United. Unbelievable. Especially after the disappointment of the Semi Final at Wembley.

Sunderland 0-2 Everton

I think it's safe to say, this game was one of the best away game we've seen in years! 7,000 Blues in Sunderland on a Tuesday night. The atmosphere was absolutely incredible. And the performance was brilliant! Jelavic at it again with his one touch finishing. And good old David Vaughan slotting home a second to finish the game. If only the Semi Final could live up to this game...

Felli Loses His Head

Marouane Fellaini could face a lengthy ban from the FA in the coming days after a number of incidents in the 1-1 draw away to Stoke.

The Belgian international was involved in 4 incidents during the game with Stoke defender Ryan Shawcross but fortunately for the Blues, the referee didn't see them and therefore no action was taken. But, the camera's located all over the Britannia Stadium caught all of the incidents perfectly.

The first of the 4, Fellaini clearly head butted Shawcross whilst Everton prepared to take a corner. Then, again at another Everton corner, Fellaini attempted to head butt Shawcross again before elbowing the Stoke defender. And lastly, during another corner, it was clear that Fellaini pushed Shawcross in the face. It was extremely lucky that the referee didn't see the incidents as Marouane would surely have been sent off.

Once the game was over, David Moyes expressed his disappointment in the Belgian international and encouraged a punishment towards him. Fellaini later released a statement in which he apologised to Shawcross, the Everton fans and his team mates.

It's only a matter of time before Fellaini is punished for his actions which we believe may be a 4/5 game match ban. I doubt we'll see Fellaini again this year.

New Peoples Blog Website Coming Soon...

After the fantastic reaction we have received from our visitors to The Peoples Blog, we have decided to construct a whole new website with more and better features to interact with.

Since starting the Blog in February, we've had over 20,000 Evertonians visit the site and add their views to our articles. But, as time went on, we felt like a Blog was not the right way to continue providing information to so many people. And so, after discussing it for some time, we've decided to scrap the Blog and build a completely new and better website.

We want the site to be as good and enjoyable for our visitors as possible. And so, we expect the site to be up and running within the next couple of weeks so we can make sure everything works as it should.

For the time being, the Blog will still be updated regularly. But once the website is up and running, the Blog will only be used for viewing past articles.

We also want to take this time to remind our visitors to get their favourite Everton memories and stories sent into us so we can put them into our eBook which will be available to buy within the next few months. To read more about this opportunity, please visit this page;

More details will be posted soon.

Everton 2012/13 Third Kit

Today, in his first press conference as an Everton player, Kevin Mirallas posed in the new Everton 2012/13 Third Kit. This is the last of our 3 kits to be revealed for the much anticipated first season with our new manufacturer Nike.

Here is our new signing Kevin Mirallas modelling the new kit;

What A Start!

After years of poor starts, getting beat by the likes of QPR, Blackburn, Arsenal and Portsmouth, we've finally won on the first day of the season for the first time in 4 years! And what a way to do it! Beating a team that haven't lost an opening day fixture since 2004.

Personally, as much as I was looking forward to the game since the fixtures were announced, I was nervous. Pre Season didn't really give me much confidence in the team. I was under the impression that they would start in the usual way. But, just minutes into the game, I knew I was wrong. The Blues were playing just like they ended last season. The passing was brilliant. The runs off the ball were brilliant. I couldn't fault anything they did. And, with the noise that only Goodison produces on a night game behind them, I could only see us getting 3 points.

But, despite some brilliant chances and moves from Everton, we went into half time with no goals. De Gea was having a blinder. Keeping out efforts from Pienaar, Osman, Baines and Jelavic. Just like he did at Goodison last year.

The second half started the same. Everton dominating, United getting the odd chance but nothing to worry Howard. And then the best chance of the game so far when the ball dropped kindly to Leon Osman inside the box but he seen his volley smash off the underside of the bar. But, it weren't long before the deadlock was broke. A corner from Darron Gibson met the head of Maroune Fellaini who slotted the ball past past De Gea. Goodison went mental!

We could of had 3 or 4.

Overall, I couldn't of been more happy with our performance. They were fantastic.

My man of the match today was obviously Maroune Fellaini. He is going to be a special player. But, I was impressed with everyone. No-one let me down.

Mirallas Completes Move

Kevin Mirallas has completed his move from Olympiakos to Everton on a four year deal believed to be in the region of £6m.

The Belgain International will join up with fellow countryman Maroune Fellaini at the Blues. Unfortunately, the striker will be unable to play against Manchester United on Monday night as the transfer was not completed in time to register players for the opening game of the season. But, we will most probably see the Mirallas being paraded at Goodison Park tomorrow night.

Also, according to a very reliable transfer expert on Twitter (fourthofficial_) Everton have made an official approach for Manchester City winger Adam Johnson. Although, we will face competition from Sunderland who have made a £10m bid for the England man.

Mirallas Done Deal?

Belgian International Kevin Mirallas has signed for Everton in a deal believed to be in the region of £6m according to a number of people including the players agent.

Mirallas' agent told the Greek media that the player has signed for Everton from Olympiakos. The striker was spotted on Merseyside yesterday and he is believed to be confirmed by the club soon as well as paraded at Goodison Park on Monday night.

The Belgian International looks to have snubbed a move to Arsenal in order to achieve more first team football at Everton.

Niang Deal On The Cards?

After impressing on his trial at Finch Farm this week, M'Baye Niang may well be Everton's last summer signing of the year. In his press conference today, David Moyes told the press he expects at least 2 new signings this summer. And so, with the Mirallas deal all but done, attention will be turned to Niang.

The Caen striker has been attracting interest from clubs such as Arsenal and Milan but Everton seem to have showed the most enthusiasm to buy the young lad. Talks between Everton and Caen will be taking place over the next week. But, will Everton pay the quoted £6m asking price for the 17 year old?

Mirallas Deal Confirmed

After the news that there will be an announcement made by Olympiacos regarding the future of Kevin Mirallas, Sky Sports News as well as the Greek media and the Belgian media are now reporting that the player will be making a move believed to be in the region of £6m to Everton.

The Belgian International is set to travel to Merseyside within the next 48 hours in order to complete a medical ahead of his move to the Blues. Unfortunately, Mirallas will be unavailable for the season opener against Manchester United on Monday.

The highly praised striker was receiving interest from Arsenal following the departure of Robin Van Persie. But, he has chosen Everton over the Gunners in an attempt to play more first team football and to link up with fellow Belgian International Maroune Fellaini.

Announcement Set Tonight?

According to the Greek Media, Olympiakos FC will be making an announcement at 10pm UK time regarding the future of Kevin Mirallas. Everton have been linked with the Belgian striker all week and according to reports, the player will be making the move to Goodison Park.

Despite interest from Arsenal, Mirallas has apparently chosen Everton over Arsenal to achieve more first team football and because his friend in Maroune Fellaini is at the club.

The 'Belgian Ronaldo' To Sign?

According to the Daily Mail as well as a number of people on Twitter, Olympiacos forward/winger Kevin Mirallas is expected to sign for Everton very soon.

The man who has been referred to as the 'Belgian Ronaldo' has been attracting interest from Arsenal as well but apparently the Blues have won the race. The fee is being reported as £5m. Mirallas is expected to discuss personal terms and complete a medical very soon.

Hopefully, this rumour will come off as it looks to have the most potential.

Niang, Dempsey and Johnson

After finding out Everton had sold Jack Rodwell for £12m, the papers and the 'ITK' twitter accounts have had a field day!

It's not often that the Blues find themselves among the transfer rumours, mainly because we've never got any money, but the past couple of days have actually been exciting for Evertonians. Obviously, it's sad to see Rodwell leave but we finally have some money to spend on transfers.

And so, according to a number of sources including Sky Sports, Clint Dempsey is the first name attracting attention from David Moyes. The USA international has apparently been in talks with Liverpool but they have stalled due to Fulham's asking price. Now, we are considering a bid. Moyes has always spoke highly of Dempsey and we know for a fact that he is a big fan of the US star. Hopefully, we could lure him to Goodison as I think he will be a quality player for us.

Secondly, Adam Johnson. The Manchester City man has found himself struggling to break into the first team recently as the likes of David Silva, Nasri and Toure have been so impressive. But, we know for a fact that the lad has potential. There have been rumours recently that a loan move for Johnson was included in the transfer of Jack Rodwell. But, there has been no confirmation of that as of yet.

Lastly, 17 year old M'Baye Niang has been attracting interest from the Blues as well apparently. This story looks to have the most potential in my opinion due to the fact almost all of the papers are reporting on it and an Everton correspondent has himself told us of the interest. Personally, I don't believe he is what we need at the moment. He's a player for the future. But, we need players that can play now. And to be honest, I think Dempsey would fill that gap.

Sunday 12 August 2012

Rodwell Off To City

Today, it was confirmed by the club that Everton midfielder Jack Rodwell was to be sold to Manchester City for an undisclosed fee. According to reports, the fee will be in the region of £15.

After spending most of his Everton career on the sidelines through injuries, we have yet to see Jack's true potential. But, in my opinion, I believe we will see that potential at Man City.

I hope that the money we receive from this deal wont go straight the bank to pay off debt. And if we do keep it for transfers, hopefully the likes of Donovan and Dempsey may be brought in.

Pienaar's Coming Home

Today, it was announced on Sky Sports that Everton and Tottenham have agreed a fee for the transfer of Steven Pienaar back to the Blues.

All along, we knew that Pienaar was only interested in a move back to Everton despite speculated interest from QPR and Sunderland. But, today was the first official word on the transfer. We believe the fee to be no more than £5m mainly because of the Blues' lack of funds. Pienaar will undergo a medical at Finch Farm on Monday and the transfer should be completed on Tuesday if all goes well.

Tim Cahill: A Modern Day Legend

On Monday night, Evertonians around the world were shocked to hear the news that our 'Blue Kangaroo' Tim Cahill, had decided to leave the club and move to MLS side New York Red Bulls. The Australian international has been with the club 8 years and with David Moyes bringing in younger players, the Aussie presumably felt his time at the club was over. The news, coincidentally, comes to our attention 8 years to the day we signed him.

I felt obliged to write this article as we feel its the least we can do for one of our greatest servants of the Premier League era.

Ever since his first goal at Manchester City and then being sent off for his celebration, Tim has had a special relationship with the club that only comes around on rare occasions. Anyone that has taken the time to watch 'Tim Cahill: The Unseen Journey' will know how Cahill and his family feel about Everton Football Club.

Personal favourite memories of Tim at the club include his magnificent overhead kick at Stamford Bridge to equalise in the dying minutes, silencing Anfield with his 88th minute header, assuring our qualification into the European places with his goal against Newcastle and all of his goals against Liverpool.

When a player makes a connection like Tim did to Everton, he always hard to watch them leave. But, we have to respect the Aussie's decision. And so, I can't put into words how much Cahill meant to Everton Football Club and us as fans. All thats left to say is we wish Tim Cahill and the rest of his family the very best of luck in the US. I will always have a soft spot for the New York Red Bulls now.

On behalf of the thousands of Everton fans located all around the world, thank you Tim for the memories and happiness you have given us over the past 8 years.

Once a blue, always a blue....#17

2012/13 A Seaon For The Youngsters?

With the new season approaching, I've taken this time to look at our squad in detail. There have been many worries over the past few months that we are an ageing team and after looking at the squad, I have to agree. But, I don't think its any need to worry. The likes of Cahill, Neville, Hibbert, Distin and Pienaar are all into their 30's now and possibly entering their last few years of professional football. Of course, we are going to need replacements for these players. But, when you look at the squad and especially our recent pre season games, I personally am calm about the situation when I see our younger players and the ability they posses.

Firstly, I know we've had our problems with Jack Rodwell, but I believe this is going to be the season he proves himself as a quality player. We know he has the ability. Just watch the goals he has scored in Europe and that brilliant move and goal against Man Utd a few years ago. He's had injury problems but it looks like he's past that and from the game against Morecambe and Motherwell, he looks to be full of confidence.

Secondly, Ross Barkley is such a promising player. The local lad was due to break into the first team a couple of years ago but was denied the opportunity due to an injury he suffered while playing for England. He still has a lot to learn but at the age of 18, he's already looking like a quality player for the Reserves and the England under 19's.

Also, the likes of Shane Duffy, Conor McAleny, Junior and Garbutt are looking like they will be breaking into the first team next season. Duffy had a spell in the first team last season and surprised us all with some quality performances. McAleny did make an appearance last season away to Arsenal and almost equalised with a volley that went just wide of the post. His performances for the reserves are making him stand out to Moyes and co. Junior and Garbutt are playing in our pre season games regularly now and seem to be doing well. We havent seen much of them two but their performances in pre season have put them in everyone's mind and so they are two more players we could see in the first team next season.

Transfer News

Just a few days into the summer transfer window and the Blues have made their first signing!

Steven Naismith has signed a four year deal at Everton after leaving Rangers at the end of last season. The Scottish international left Rangers after the club went into administration. And so, he has joined the Blues on a free. Perfect for our lack of funds. After speaking to a few Rangers fans, the general impression we get of Naismith is that of a down to earth lad who is a quality attacking midfielder. Again, it looks like we have got a great bargain from the struggling Scottish side.

In other news, it looks as though Pranjic will be joining the Blues very soon. According to a reliable source, the Croatian is travelling to Merseyside this weekend to hold talks with Everton officials and to undergo a medical. We don't know too much about Pranjic but we are aware he is a left sided player which raises doubts about the possible signing of Steven Pienaar.

Another two deals that could well be completed this summer are the signings of released Wigan Athletic forward Hugo Rodallega and Manchester City man Vladmir Weiss. Everton are apparently interested in the two and as they are cheap, we can afford them. Hugo Rodallega will travel to Merseyside this weekend to discuss personal terms. But, with other clubs such as Stoke interested, the move may come down to which club can offer more money.

As soon as we hear of any other transfer news, we will post it.

Early Business For Blues?

It looks like Everton may be one of the first clubs to do some business in this years summer transfer window. I know. I'm as shocked as anyone.

Rumours have been circulating the past few months that Rangers man Steven Naismith could be on his way to Goodison Park and as of this week those rumours look to be true. With Rangers entering administration at the end of last season, the players had the option to stay or to leave the club. And a few days ago, Naismith made the decision to leave Rangers FC. Therefore, the Scot is available to sign for free. Perfect opportunity for skint Everton. For those who don't know Naismith, he usually plays an attacking midfield role. Another positive of the deal is the fact that Naismith has experience playing an attacking partnership with Nikica Jelavic. Hopefully, the two can use that experience in the Premier League. This looks like a done deal and could be confirmed as early as the end of the week.

A second deal that could well be completed sooner rather than later is the signing of Croatian Danijel Pranjić. The left sided man can play basically anywhere on the left. After being released by Bayern Munich at the end of last season, the Croatians agent claimed Everton had been in contact and in recent days Danijel himself has expressed his desire to join the Blues. Again, we expect this deal to be confirmed very soon.

The interest in Danijel Pranjić has however raised doubts over the future of Everton left back Leighton Baines. Rumours that Manchester United are planning a bid for the England international have become increasingly frequent in recent days and the major interest in another left sided player adds to the worry. But, as of yet, neither Everton or Manchester United have confirmed these rumours. So, no news is good news for the moment.

Everton FC, A Selling Club?

Over the past decade, Everton fans have had to watch on while other clubs such as Chelsea, Manchester City, Tottenham and Liverpool recieve a large amount of investment from their billionaire owners and most of the time, go on to success in the league and cup competitions. During this time, the closest Everton have come to any sort of success is 1 FA Cup Final, 2 FA Cup Semi Final's, 1 League Cup Semi Final and a 4th place finish in the league. As a normal Everton fan, it has been heartbreaking to see other clubs progress so much while our target every season seems to be a decent cup run and a top 7 finish in the league.

The investment into our team obviously is not enough and should not be tolerated for a club of so much history. The recent introduction of the 'Blue Union' has caused much debate between fans of Everton Football Club. I understand that some people have different views to others when it comes to our Chairman Bill Kenwright and I am not attempting to change anyone else's opinion on the matter. But, it has to be said, something is not right at our club.

The argument I am trying to express in this article is the fact that Everton is slowly becoming a 'Selling Club' and most of our fans dont seem to be acknowledging the fact. Every time we seem to be building a good team that could challenge for Champions League places, our best players are drawn away by other clubs with more ambitious targets. We've seen the likes of Rooney, Graveson, Arteta, and Lescott leave the club for teams that are offering not just more money, but the chance of European football as well as other trophy's and the opportunity to challenge for the league. Wayne Rooney is a perfect example. The lad was a boyhood Evertonian but didn't feel as if he would get anywhere in his career at the Blues. And so, he left. I will never forgive Rooney for leaving the club but it has to be accepted that he made the right decision regarding his career. He's won Premier League titles, the European Cup, the League Cup and the Community Shield. While our biggest achievement has been an FA Cup Final in which we lost.

Last summer, David Moyes reassured the fans that despite it happening in the past, we will not become a selling club. One year later, we've lost Mikel Arteta to Arsenal and could well lose Fellaini and Baines to clubs that are offering much more than us in terms of money and achievements. I personally believe, if Manchester United come calling, Baines will leave the club. And if Chelsea bid for Fellaini, the club will have to sell in order to pay the banks and Fellaini himself will be lured away by the opportunity of European Football. And again, Everton fans have to worry that if Ross Barkley impresses next season, again, he will be leaving to other clubs such as Manchester United, Chelsea, City or Arsenal.

I wrote this article purely to raise the awareness to our own fans that Everton Football Club is now a 'Selling Club' and will be for a long time unless something changes at our club.

Pre Season 2012/13

Everton's pre season schedule before the 2012/13 season hasn't been confirmed as of yet but we have been told what the club plans.

Two games have been confirmed by the club that will take place in the UK. Firstly, the Blues will travel to the Globe Arena to face Morecambe on Saturday 14th July for their first pre season game of the year. Then, we will face Dundee at Tannadice on Wednesday 18th July.

We expect a couple more games to be announced in the UK as we usually participate in an annual game against Preston at Deepdale.

As for the clubs pre season tour, we expect an announcement to be made shortly that the team will travel to Indonesia to participate in a tournament in which Marseille and Galatasaray will also be playing in.

2012/13 Home, Away & Third Kit Revealed

After the unveiling of the 2012/13 Black Away kit last night, the Home & Third kit have been accidentally revealed by the club today. An Everton TV interview of Maroune Fellaini regarding the new Away kit featured the Home and Third kit in the background. The club obviously didn't mean to reveal the shirts and have recently removed the video from the site. But, an Everton fan on Twitter took a screenshot of the video and captured the shirts.

As we said months ago, the Home shirt is the same as the images we posted. There are rings of white around the sleeves and a white 'V' neck collar. The first image (left) is not the best quality but is the official Home shirt. The second image (right) is the image we posted months ago of the new shirt. Very similar to the official shirt.

The Away kit was revealed last. And so, the Third shirt was the other shirt to be accidentally revealed by the club today. The first image (left) is from the Everton TV interview. The second image (right) is the image of the new France shirt that we posted months ago.

Official 2012/13 Away Kit by Nike

The Official Everton Away Kit by Nike has been unveiled to the Everton fans today. The kit features a black shirt, black shorts and black socks. The whole black kit also features yellow crest and advertisements. Personally, I love it. It looks smart, classy and quality. The kit will be on sale from the 23rd June when the Everton Two Store in Liverpool One opens again after refurbishment. But for now, here it is;

Pienaar Want's To Return

Steven Pienaar has today expressed his desire to rejoin Everton this summer on a permanent deal.

According to a reliable transfer expert on Twitter, the South African has told Tottenham that the only club he will sign for is Everton. After his impressive loan spell at the end of last season, he has attracted interest from clubs such as Sunderland causing Everton fans to feel the need to worry. But, his actions today have eased our worries slightly at least.

The only problem the Blues have now is getting the funds to buy Pienaar on a permanent deal. Our lack of funds have become a serious problem over the last few years and I'm sure I'm not the only Evertonian that is fed up with the lack of investment into the team. But hopefully, we'll be surprised as we was in January with a few buys including Pienaar.

2012/13 Home Kit Update

The eagerly anticipated Nike home kit should be due to go on sale on the 23rd June. The Everton Two store in Liverpool One has been closed for refurbishment which we believe is purely for the introduction of the new Nike products. And so, once the store opens again on the 23rd June, we believe it will be the new home shirt on sale first.

Also today, another image of the new shirt has been leaked online. So basically, it's not a surprise anymore, just release it Everton!

Transfer Rumours In Full Force

The rumours are out in full force today online with three particular players involved.

It has now been confirmed by the club that Manchester United have not at any point made an approach for our English left back Leighton Baines. Again, just the papers making up anything they think they can sell. Typical. The club have said that Baines has never asked to leave the Blues and has no intentions of leaving this summer.

Rumours today from Belgian sources are that Chelsea are apparently making a move for Maroune Fellaini this summer. The deal will consist of £15m as well as Chelsea midfielder Roman Lukaku. I personally don't believe the rumours and nothing has been confirmed as of yet. But, it has to be said, if Fellaini leaves, we have absolutely no chance of qualifying in any European competitions next season. Fellaini is our best creative player. We must hang on to him.

Lastly, according to a number of sources, Manuel Fernandes will be moving back to the Blues this summer after his contract was terminated at Beskitas following the players wages not being payed by the club. There have been rumours the past few days regarding the ex loanee but today apparently the deal seems to be sorted. Quality signing in my opinion. You can't go wrong with the lad and with a free transfer on the cards, our lack of funds wont be affected.

Tuesday 22 May 2012

Sky Sports Reporting Richardson

Sky Sports are reporting that Everton have enquired about Sunderland man Kieran Richardson. The news was broke today live on Sky Sports. Apparently, Richardson is attracting interest from a number of clubs including Everton, West Ham and in January, Arsenal.

This again raises the question, will Pienaar return? With Moyes looking to sign Richardson and possibly Manuel Fernandes, the answer on everyones mind is no. It's not looking promosing regarding the South African.

Keep up to date with all the latest Everton transfer rumours on our Transfer Rumours Page.

Landon to Return?

USA International Landon Donovan has today expressed his hopes of returning to Everton once again for a third loan spell. Since his first loan at the club, Donovan has become a fan favourite and his fantastic abilities on the pitch has one us some important games including Manchester City and Chelsea. The loanee joined Everton again in January after 2 years. And again, he proved to everyone why he remains important to Everton Football Club.

Today, he told the press that he would love to return to the club. Landon said "I would absolutely like to come back, theres no question about that. And I know I'll be back at some point. Now, whether I'm back as a player or just as a fan, who knows?".

Personally, I would love to see Landon back in an Everton shirt. I don't agree with people saying his second loan spell at the club was less effective as the first. I felt like he played as more of a creator this time around and the assist for Anichebes goal against Aston Villa a few months ago emphasises this point.

I honestly don't think we'll see Landon back this summer. If he agrees to come back to Everton, I'm sure it will be another loan spell in January. The man is loyal to LA Galaxy and so I don't blame him for not wanting a permanent deal here. Of course, I would love him to sign but I just don't see it happening. Either way, he has been added to our Transfer Rumour Page as we will keep hope of him rejoining the Blues.

A View On The Transfer Window

Transfer Window's in recent years haven't been very exciting for fans of Everton. We've had to watch the likes of Manchester City, United, Chelsea and even our neighbours spend millions on top class players (not Liverpool though) while we struggled to even get a loan deal sorted. Obviously, I'm not expecting miracles this summer either. The lack of funds has just been accepted now and the transfer window is something we can no longer look forward to.

But, with a relatively exciting transfer window in January, can we expect to see a few new faces this summer? I think it's safe to say, all Evertonians were surprised in January by the signings of Jelavic and Gibson. And so, can the club surprise us again this summer?

As of yet, there have been a number of rumours regarding possible new signing at the club but nothing confirmed. One thing that does worry me, is the Steven Pienaar interview after the last game of the season against Newcastle. It was great to see how much the South African cares for the club and it was obvious that he loved his time at Everton. But, what worried me was the fact he was crying while he spoke about saying his goodbyes. That doesn't look the behaviour of a player that is confident of a return on a permanent deal. If we do have limited funds available this summer, they should all go towards the signing of Pienaar in my opinion.

Other news that has come into play recently in the strong link with ex loanee Manuel Fernandes. During his two loan spells at Goodison, Manny impressed the Blues fans and even managed to score an absolute cracker against Manchester United. Fernandes' contract was terminated at the end of this season in a mutual agreement with Beskitas after they didn't pay his wages. Everton are being strongly linked with Fernandes following his two loan spells here and so this rumour is one to watch. With him being a free agent, he could be a perfect inclusion to our squad considering our lack of funds.

Unfortunately, as of yet, this rumour seems to be the only one with any potential. But, we are keeping track of all the rumours, small or not, on our transfer rumours page;

New 2012/13 Shirt Image

Again, another image of the new 2012/13 home shirt has been leaked on the Internet. And once again, it has come from a Thailand store that is selling it before its even been revealed in the UK. Since the many images have been leaked online, the shirt has experienced both negative and positive opinions from Blues fans. I for one really like it. It looks classy and the sleeves to me look quality.

As for a release date, we're hearing it could be early June (8th June to be exact) and the reveal date should be close to the end of this month. The Everton players will wear the new strips on their pre season tour which has yet to be announced where it will take place.

Here is the new found image of the 2012/13 Home Shirt by Nike;

2012/13 Home Kit On Sale In Thailand

Last night, we found an image of the new Nike Home Kit on sale in Thailand. The shirt is just a mockup of the actual shirt that will be sold over here in the UK but it is the actual design. It appears the shirt will be the same design as images we posted earlier last month. The shirt will have large white bands around both arms as previously posted. As for the release date, we believe it will be the 8th June according to an employee at the Everton store. We expect the kit to be revealed before the end of this month though.

2012/13 Home Kit Update

Today, another photo of what looks like the new Everton Home Kit has been leaked on the internet. Earlier last month, we put 2 pictures of other images of the kit but it has yet to be confirmed. And today, we now have a new image of the actual shirt. Again, it hasn't been confirmed by the club it Sylvain Distin has confirmed the other images.

The image features a mock up of the actual shirt. Which is why the badge doesn't look right. This is the design of the new kit but will look better when actually released.

What do you think?

Decisions Decisions.....

So, its last game of the season this Sunday and the Blues take on Newcastle at Goodison Park. Despite the season ending, the joy of the Transfer Window begins. Although, for many years now (with the exception of this January) Everton fans haven't been able to experience the excitement of new players coming in to the club.

But, hopefully, we may say a couple of players signed this summer. One thing for certain is, Moyes has a number of decisions to make regarding players coming in and going out.

Firstly, I think all Evertonians can agree on one thing. We have to sign Steven Pienaar. The South African left the Blues to join Tottenham last season but his recent loan deal has proved how much we depend on him here at Everton. Baines and Pienaar down the left is a force to be reckoned with and his recent performances have emphasised this. You only have to watch the Man United game to see how much he means to the side and the fans. But, I don't think he will be cheap. We sold Steven for £3m last year but this seasons performances may have upped his price. And to be honest, with Redknapp being the decision maker regarding the deal he will want to get as much money as possible from us.

Secondly, there has been a large amount of rumours in recent weeks regarding Leighton Baines. According to the papers, the likes of Bayern Munich and Man United are top contenders for the transfer of our highly rated left back. But, I think as soon as we start selling players such as Baines, we might as well give up on hoping for any silverware in the future. Baines should be one of our top priority's to keep this summer. Even if Bayern or United offer over £20m, I still don't believe we should sell him.

Also, another batch of rumours have been springing up in a number of papers lately involving our Belguim international Maroune Fellaini. Personally, I think he is our best player. Without Fellaini, we wouldn't of won half the games we have this season. According to the papers, its Chelsea that's the team chasing his signature. Again, not in a million years would I let the lad go.

Enough about players going out the door, here's whats happening regarding players coming in. One thing we know that could be a possibility, is the possible signing of Denis Stracqualursi. The Argentinian loanee impressed in the beginning of his loan but has found himself on the bench in recent weeks. Personally, I would sign the lad. He obviously has a passion and cares a lot about the club but I think he just needs a good trainer around him to teach him the skills he requires.

But, what would you do? We always want to hear from our fellow Evertonains so comment, tweet us or join us on Facebook.

Everton v Newcastle

Everton face Newcastle this weekend in the final game of the season in an attempt to secure seventh place in the league. The last time the sides met the game finished 2-1 at St James Park after a good performance just weren't good enough for Everton. A win is essential for the Blues as our neighbours closed the gap in midweek with a win over Chelsea. Newcastle will no doubt be up for the game as they could still finish in 4th place but after they lost last weekend against league leaders Man City, could the Blues have the momentum going into the game?

Early team news from the Everton camp is that of Leighton Baines, Darron Gibson and Phil Neville are back in training and could feature in the game on Sunday. I personally believe we have missed Gibson and Baines a lot since they got injured so it would be great to see the lads back at Goodison on Sunday.

My Starting 11;
Howard
Baines
Heitinga
Distin
Hibbert
Osman
Pienaar
Fellaini
Gibson
Cahill
Jelavic

Another Poor Season?

So the Blues face Newcastle in our final game of the season this Sunday and once again it feels as though it's been another poor and unsuccessful campaign. Every year, our poor start to the season comes back to haunt us as our final push just isn't good enough.

Granted, this season has had its highs such as another Wembley visit, a few big wins over City and Chelsea but is that really enough for such a prestige club like Everton? It's becoming the same every season now and until we get a bit of investment I am afraid that it could be like this for a while. This season again we have missed out on Europe, lost in the FA Cup Semi, lost all three Merseyside Derby's and could possibly not even finish seventh unless we beat Newcastle. And what worries me is the fact that a large number of Evertonians are happy and pleased at this season as we may well finish above Liverpool. I for one always want us to finish above them, but I don't believe that finishing in 7th position without any silverware is successful.

But, with Jelavic looking very promising, a possible permanent Pienaar deal on the horizon and another couple of signings in the summer maybe, could next year be an improvement? Every year we hope for the same but are disappointed by the poor start. But personally, I believe we are just a couple of new signings away from challenging the champions league positions. As long as we don't go selling our best players (Fellaini, Baines, Heitinga and the likes) and get a few people in, next season could be our year.

Friday 4 May 2012

Wolves v Everton

The Blues take on already relegated Wolves this Sunday in their last away game of the season. We go into the game following a 1-1 draw with Stoke on Tuesday which we could easily of got 3 points. This fixture last between the Blues and Wolves finished 3-0 after a fantastic first half from Everton in which Bilyaletdinov scored an absolute stunner, Phil Neville scored a great goal from the edge of the box and Jermaine Beckford's goal weren't bad either.

Early team news from the Everton camp is that the Blues will most likely be without Baines, Drenthe, Anichebe, Rodwell, Neville and Gibson. Victor was replaced during the game on Tuesday and so he misses Sundays fixture. As for the rest, no surprise to see them out following injuries picked up earlier in the season and the Drenthe saga remains private between him and the club.

My Starting 11 would be;
Howard
Hibbert
Heitinga
Jagielka
Distin
Pienaar
Fellaini
Cahill
Osman
Barkley
Jelavic

Kit Update

Yesterday we revealed the new Everton home kit for the 2012/13 season after it was confirmed by Sylvain Distin. Today, an image we have found on EFC site Toffeeweb, suggests what the away kit could look like. Sylvain Distin again has revealed that the image does look very close to the actual kits itself. It seems as though the away kit will be white.

Everton v Fulham

The Blues take on Fulham this weekend at Goodison Park. We go into the game following a fantastic result at Old Trafford in which we comeback twice to draw 4-4. With only a few games to go of this season, the Blues aren't playing for anything in particular but a place above the Kopites is up for grabs so a strong finish is needed. The two teams have already met twice this season with Everton winning on both occasions.

In his pre match press conference earlier today, David Moyes confirmed that the Blues will be without left back Leighton Baines and midfielder Jack Rodwell. Both players missed the last game and are expected to miss the rest of the season although there is a possibility of Baines returning before the season draws to an end.

No word on the absence of Royston Drenthe who was disciplined by the club a couple of weeks ago.

Distin Hints At Away & Third Kits

Sylvain Distin might be in trouble with the club when they find out what he's been telling the fans details about next seasons kits! Earlier today, the Blues center back confirmed the leaked image of the Everton home shirt was in fact authentic. And now, the Frenchman has confirmed on Twitter that the away kit will be white, and the 3rd strip will be black. Someone obvisouly hasn't told Sylvain that you're not allowed to release details of the new kits.

There have been rumours for months now that the away kit will be similar to the new France away kit and with Distin revealing that the kit will be white, it adds to the possibility.

Everton Home Strip 2012/13

The new Everton Nike Home Strip for the 2012/13 season has been leaked online! The image's below were posted online today and Sylvain Distin confirmed that the team will be wearing them next season. I think its looks classy and smart! The kit should be officially revealed within the next couple of weeks! Distin has also revealed that the shirt he tried on at the club did not look as tight as the image on the left.

The Transfer Rumours Have Started Already

Its still a few weeks before the transfer window officially opens but the rumours have already started with a few names being thrown about for potential summer transfers to and from Everton.

Firstly, a very reliable transfer expert on twitter (and an Everton fan) has stated that Everton are interested in Fulham striker and USA international Clint Dempsey. In the past, the expert has been spot on with transfers and has broke news before anyone else. And according to him, he has stated that the Blues have been watching Dempsey for a few months now and he is so confident of the USA international joining Everton, he has been asking betting agents for odds on the transfer. If you're on twitter, his username is @Fourth_Official, well worth a follow.

Secondly, David Moyes has expressed his desire to sign Pienaar on permanent deal. The South African has rejoined the Blues on loan until the end of the season after leaving to join Tottenham last season. Evertonians everywhere will surely be in agreement when we say he is our main priority for the summer transfer period.

Also, there are a lot of rumours circulating that Everton are interested in Swansea loanee Sigurosson. The midfielder has impressed in his role at Swansea since joining on loan and may have a few clubs looking for his signature in the summer. But, a number of people have been mentioning Everton's name in the race to sign him.

Heitinga Player Of The Month

John Heitinga has been named Everton Player of The Month for March. The Dutch centre back has shown outstanding abilities this season and has become a fan favourite amongst the Blues faithful.

I personally have voted for Johnny to be named Player of The Season after a brilliant campaign from the Dutch international. Heitinga recieved his award from the Club on Friday and was congratulated by the famous 86/87 team at Liverpool's Hilton Hotel.

Hopefully, a new deal could be on the cards for Johnny after a superb season with the Blues but I believe it might be tough to hold on to him.

Man Utd v Everton

The Blues travel to Manchester tomorrow to face Premier League champions Manchester United. The fixture earlier on in the season ended in a 1-0 win to United but Everton felt very hard done by after a good second half performance. Everton go into the game following a disappointing performance at Wembley in the FA Cup Semi Final against Merseyside rivals Liverpool. Whereas United go into the game after a good 4-0 win against Aston Villa.

In David Moyes' press conference earlier this week, the Blues manager revealed that Everton will be without England International Leighton Baines following a hamstring injury he picked up in the Semi Final last weekend. And, Everton could be without the left back for the rest of the season. As well as Baines, the Blues will be without Dutchman Royston Drenthe, who was disciplined by the club earlier this week, and Jack Rodwell who still has a hamstring problem. Other than these 3 absences, the rest of the side are available.

Everton's last visit to Old Trafford ended in another 1-0 loss after a late Hernandez goal but hopefully this season the Blues can redeem themselves after the Wembley loss.

My starting 11;
Howard
Hibbert
Distin
Heitinga
Neville
Pienaar
Fellaini
Gibson
Osman
Cahill
Jelavic

Nike Kit To Be Revealed Soon

Everton Football Club revealed just a few weeks ago that they have signed a 3 year deal with sports manufacturers Nike. The club told the fans that the sports giants will be creating Everton's kit as well as training gear for the next 3 seasons.

Today, an Everton official has confirmed on Twitter that he has seen the kit and it should be revealed within the next couple of weeks. The employee at the club said that he tried the new shirt on and he expects fans to like the 'classy' kit. There have been a number of fake designs posted on the Internet over the past couple of months but as of yet, none have been confirmed as the actual design the Blues will be wearing. Fans are eagerly anticipated the release of the new 2012/13 kit and we are guaranteed to see it before this season is out.
